is almost everything in real estate literature.
Your agent may even throw it at you when
you ask for advice about buying a home.
However, what does this actually mean? Why
is it so important?
Location!
Mostly,
it is extremely important to the resale
value of your home. The idea is to buy a
house that will appeal to the largest number
of potential future homebuyers. A careful
choice of location can minimize potential
negative influences on future resale value,
and maximize positive influences. Focusing
on resale value requires you to make several
different "location" choices.
The first choice you have to make is "which
community?" At the very least,
you should narrow your choice down to just
a few local communities.
Priorities!
Once
you have decided on an area to search for
your new home, you need to list your priorities,
and how influential each will be regarding
the amount of weight you allow it to carry
on your selection. For instance, if 4 bedrooms
are a priority, to have a guest room, but
you find the schools in a certain area only
have 3 bedroom homes available, are you
willing to give up the 4th room? This is
a very generic comparison, but it is always
best to list your priorities, then go through
them and again, prioritize the importance
of each.
Search
